The Residence At the black star is situated in the
historical centre of Prague, about 250 metres from the Charles Bridge and just a few minutes walk from the Old Town Square.
History of the building
The building of the Residence is proclaimed within the Prague cultural preservation which, from 1993, is listed on the UNESCO world heritage list.
The first reference of the building dates back to the period around 1400. Originally gothic, the building was divided into two parts in 1538. The left part underwent a broad renaissance reconstruction. In 1622 the parts were again integrated, at this time in the late renaissance style.
The interiors then passed through some minor changes in the classicism style. The basement and cellars of the Residence are almost completely covered by different types of wagon vaults in the ceiling. Lastly, the attic suite/floor has been built beneath a beautiful gable feature of the Residence.
Accommodation service
The residence offers luxurious accommodation in 6 suites, each up to four people. Each suite consists of at least two rooms (usually a bedroom, living room with Sat TV and safety deposit box) and bathroom with hairdryer. Four of them (De luxe suites) have fully equipped kitchens (fridge, electric cooker, dishwasher, toaster and fast-boiling kettle). Suites without a kitchen are fitted with a fridge, toaster and fast-boiling kettle.
The reception is open daily to guests from 7:00 to 23:00 The breakfast is prepared in your room which enable enough time to rest in the morning and the option to have your breakfast anytime…What is served? 2 types of rolls,toast bread, cornflakes, natural yoghurt, fruit yoghurt, butter, honey, a few types of marmelade, chocolate butter, a few types of cheese, pate,ham, eggs, juice, milk, biscuites,black and fruit tea, coffee,fruits and vegetable.
