Hotel U Klenotnika
The building provides 11 rooms, a restaurant (in which breakfast is served) and a lounge. The likeable staff working
at the reception desk will always gladly assist you with selection and booking of required services (trips, theatre tickets, etc.).
The U klenotníka Hotel was built on the grounds of an old burgher house. In the basement there is some masonry from the early 13th century. The house has been refurbished many times over the past centuries and therefore influences of various styles of architecture prove to be quite apparent.
The most significant feature is the listed sight – the gold-plated ceiling on the ground floor containing motifs of jewellery. The décor was created in early 20th century – at the time when the building housed a renowned jewellery store. One of the orders processed by this jewellery store was restoration of the Czech crown jewels. That was the reason why this building got its present name
(U klenotníka means At the Jeweller’s).
The whole building was refurbished and converted to a hotel in 1994. Nevertheless, it has preserved its historical character while being equipped with modern interior features as well as works of art created by contemporary painters.
